First off, I'm unaware of the promo-only release of Music for Films so I can't attest to whether the tracks on New Depression Music were actually lifted from a source like that(if one exists). BUT, they were not lifted from the commercial release of Music for Films. Some tracks are absolutely similar (. Dark Waters from NDM is Sparrowfall I from MFF)but most are not directly lifted. if he is on the record, then I'd wager it was only as a musician.

Music for Films is the seventh solo studio album by British musician Brian Eno. It is a conceptual work intended as a soundtrack for imaginary films, although many of the pieces had already appeared in actual films.

Robert Fripp's second team up with Brian Eno was a less harsh, more varied affair, closer to Eno's then-developing idea of ambient music than what had come before in (No Pussyfooting). The method used, once again, was the endless decaying tape loop system of Frippertronics but refined with pieces such as "Wind on Water" fading up into an already complex bed of layered synths and treated guitar over which Fripp plays long, languid solos

Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Brian En. none of these tracks actually go anywhere at all, they just float into themselves and then float back out. eno's "ambience" is essentially somebody using computers to write minimalist impressionist music, but this record also includes a large amount of organic instrumentation. what separates this record as distinct from other ambient eno discs is that this record makes use of the same.

You must remember these releases often predated later official releases and were generally great crumbs for the collectors before the artists deemed to release things in better quality years later. That's not to have a go at Brian Eno re.this release but a more general point in the light of clever dicks who maybe were not even born at the time and then come across some release 20 years after it came out and put it down as poor quality etc.etc.This may or may not be the case now but the release may have come out originally when fans were only too pleased/happy to get any of these outtakes/demos whatever!
