Roxy Music is the debut studio album by the English glam rock band of the same name. It was released on 16 June 1972. It was generally well received by contemporary critics and made it to number 10 in the UK Albums Chart.

Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Roxy Music. The album was dedicated to Susie, a drummer who auditioned for Roxy Music in the early days. The cover features model Kari-Ann Muller, one of the rare Roxy models who didn't date Bryan Ferry. She later married Mick Jagger's brother Chris and appeared in the James Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Each comes complete with original inner and outer sleeve reproductions including artwork, lyrics and high-end gloss finishes.

Roxy Music kicked off their masterly For Your Pleasure album with the ebullient Do the Strand, a song about a made-up dance craze that tipped a chapeau to the fashionable London thoroughfare of the same name. Ferry’s words are daringly dandyish and frivolous, as he throws references aplenty from La Goulue (the French Can-can dancer) to Nijinsky (the Russian ballet dancer), artworks such as Guernica and the Mona Lisa, and even a witty play on words involving King Louis XVI ( Louis Seize he prefer laissez-faire le Strand ). Themes of desolation are explored throughout For Your Pleasure, as well as companionship of a more risque nature, as we’ll see from our next song. 4 In Every Dream Home a Heartache.

Roxy Music regrouped in the fall of 1978 after spending 18 months on solo projects. Roxy Music supported the album with an international tour that featured Carrack and Tibbs; prior to the tour's start, Thompson left the band after breaking his thumb in a motorcycle accident. Flesh + Blood, the follow-up to Manifesto, was recorded just by Ferry, Manzanera and Mackay, and a host of studio musicians. Released in the summer of 1980, Flesh + Blood became Roxy's second British number one album on the strength of the Top Ten single "Over You"; in America, the album reached the American Top 40.

Roxy Music frontman Bryan Ferry has long enjoyed a reputation as one of the most successful ladies’ men in rock – thanks in no small part to the band’s canny artwork, which injected some fashion-shoot glamour into rock album covers

British glam rock band Roxy Music’s eponymous debut album, which recieved great commercial success, reaching number 10 in the UK Albums Chart. Producers Peter Sinfield. More Roxy Music albums.
