Cut Copy (sometimes stylised as Cut/Copy) are an Australian new wave music band formed in 2001 by DJ Dan Whitford (vocals, keyboards and guitar). Initially a home-recording project, the band now includes Tim Hoey (guitars), Ben Browning (bass guitar) and Mitchell Scott (drums). So far they have released five studio albums, an EP and a number of singles and remixes. They achieved breakthrough success in 2008 with their second album, In Ghost Colours. Some of their most well-known singles include "Lights & Music", "Hearts on Fire" and "Take Me Over".

In Ghost Colours earns its smiles with a combination of ingenuity and easiness that you don't often come by, and for that, even in April, it already feels like a triumph. A very enjoyable electropop album here with only a couple of weaker tracks. My personal favourite song on the album is Lights and Music.

A record I do like very much (ooh! segue!) is Cut Copy’s In Ghost Colours. You need this record if for no other reason than that it sounds exactly like April through June, when it’s hot but not real hot, the girls are half-dressed, not half-naked, and the beach has Tilda Swinton on it. In Ghost Colours finds them teamed up to shake some skinny asses with the less famous half of storied production team the DFA, Tim Goldsworthy. Feel the Love is a suitable opener only because it handily encapsulates the album’s strengths and weaknesses. Since this is as much a Goldsworthy record as it is a Cut Copy record, it sounds great.
