Wait Till The Morning. This song is by Winter Hours and appears on the album Wait Till The Morning (1986) and on the album Wait Till The Morning (1989). It's like the darkness has been hereFor more than daysWe watch the evenings armyLeave our shores in every ageTo stain eternal bronzeWith the mortal sky While every mother's crying. Wait till the morningWhen a wheel of fire will cross the skyA harbor dawn's can - please say no - By a single seagull's cry.

Compilation of two early EPs and some singles. It lacks the punch of Chrysalis's release but is a very tuneful and engaging record, with some pleasing rough edges.

Like most bands that fall short of superstardom, Winter Hours exists mainly in the memories of its fans. One of New Jersey's leading alternative-rock acts of its era, the band formed in Lyndhurst in 1983 and had a richly textured, . like sound and a handsome, deep-voiced frontman who inspired comparisons to Jim Morrison. They had a devoted following up and down the East Coast, a college radio hit called "Hyacinth Girl" and, briefly, a contract with the major label Chrysalis.

Straight On till Morning is the fifth album by American jam band Blues Traveler. It was released in July 1997 (see 1997 in music). The title of the album, and the accompanying cover art, are from the directions to Neverland, as given by Peter Pan in . Barrie's Peter Pan (Play 1904, Novel 1911): "Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning. It is the last of the band's albums to feature bassist Bobby Sheehan, who died of a drug overdose in 1999.

Added note is that Rob Norris of the Bongos is involved here. Now this makes sense.
On this 1986 EP Winter Hours strongly cops the jangly melancholy of Murmur/Reckoning era REM. But while lacking originality and uniqueness, they have an ear for quietly engaging tunes and effective arrangements that provide a surprisingly satisfying listen. If you've ever wished that REM had spent a little more time exploring those pastoral textures of their earlier work, you might enjoy this earnest and worthwhile knock off.
