Suzette Charles (born Suzette De Gaetano), the second African American woman to hold the crown of Miss America, was born in Mays Landing, New Jersey on March 2, 1963. She is the daughter of Charles Gaetano, a businessman, and Suzette (Burroughs) Gaetano, a music teacher. Charles represented New Jersey in the September 1983 Miss America Pageant held in Atlantic City, New Jersey at the time. Charles performed very well during the pageant competition  . In August 1993, she released her debut solo single, Free To Love Again. The song was a modest success. She has also toured with the Suzette Charles band. Charles is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

To Love Again" is a 1981 studio/compilation album by Diana Ross. It featured both new recordings and previously-released material. The album was produced by Michael Masser. It reached in the USA ( R&B) and sold around 200,000 copies. Following the success of 1980's Diana, produced by Chic, this set was released in early 1981 and consisted of old and newly recorded love songs by Ross.

Suzette Charles (born Suzette DeGaetano, March 2, 1963) is an American singer, entertainer, and actress. She was Miss New Jersey in 1983, and served as Miss America 1984 for seven weeks after Vanessa Williams was forced to resign from the position that July. In 1993, Charles was signed to RCA Records and recorded with top British producers Mike Stock and Pete Waterman, releasing her debut single, "Free To Love Again", in August of that year. The single peaked at number 58 on the UK Singles Chart. Other songs she recorded with Stock and Waterman included "After You're Gone", "Don't Stop (All The Love You Can Give)", "Every Time We Touch", "What The Eye Don't See" and "Just For A Minute"
