Allan Jones (October 14, 1907 – June 27, 1992) was an American actor and tenor. Jones, of Welsh ancestry, was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania (some sources say Old Forge, Pennsylvania), and grew up in Pennsylvania. His father and grandfather were coal miners, and he worked in coal mines early in his adult life. He left that occupation to study voice at New York University.

Allan Jones was another actor who could also sing. Hattie McDaniel makes a brief but delightful appearance as Queenie. What's more, director James Whale took pains to make the show not a Busby Berkeley-style extravaganza. Both Howard Keel and Allan Jones are great singers. This version, however, is more realistic in showing the effect of Gaylord's gambling on all of the family. His humility in the ending and the love he receives from his wife and family make it a tender love story that will bring tears to your eyes.
