Monguito (2) ‎– El Unico. Label: Toboga Records ‎– TLP 613, Toboga ‎– TOBOGA 613. Format: Vinyl, LP, Album. 1982 US release with the identical jacket, label variation, and matrices of: Monguito (2) - El Unico, but pressed with a large ring indentation on center record labels.

Monguito El Unico's 1980s output was quite consistent, but the Cuban salsa vocalist outdid himself with Monguito, one of his strongest albums. This LP boasted the classic "No le Llamen Salsa a Mi Son," which finds Monguito expressing his disdain for the term salsa and asking listeners not to use it to describe the Afro-Cuban son rhythm. Whatever terms you use to describe Monguito's music, this is a fine album. The singer brings plenty of passion and charisma to "No le Llamen Salsa a Mi Son," and he's equally spirited on "Los Secretos del Amor," "Mexico Lindo," and the optimistic "Miren Que Suerte. Produced by Roberto Torres in New York, Monguito is recommended to salseros without hesitation.

Monguito "El Unico" (b Ramón Quian, Manguito, Matanzas Province, Cuba; d May 26th 2006, NYC) Afro-Cuban sonero (extemporising salsa singer) with distinctive nasal voice, composer, bandleader, producer; dubbed "El Unico" (The Unique).

Como el Macao, 05:09.

Monguito El Único: Cuban vocalist, bandleader, producer and composer. An Afro-Cuban sonero, he had a simple improvising style with a distinctive nasal voice. Manicero, Son de la Loma, Demuestrame Que Sabes и другие песни. Вся дискография, Радио, Концерты, рекомендации и похожие исполнители.

Ramón Quián (died May 26, 2006), better known as Monguito "El Único", was a Cuban vocalist, bandleader, producer and composer. Monguito performed with Orquesta Mazzuet in his native town before relocating to Havana, where he sang with Orquesta Modernista and Conjunto Modelo. In the 1950s, Monguito el Único moved to Mexico. There he worked with Pepe Arévalo y Sus Mulatos and appeared in three movies.
