Dragon Quest Biography: Emblem of Roto is a manga series by Chiaki Kawamata (outlook on the world), Junji Koyanagi (scenario) and Kamui Fujiwara (art) that was adapted into a comic CD in 1994. An anime movie based on the manga was released in Japan in April 20, 1996. Its story is meant to take place between Dragon Quest III and the original Dragon Quest video game. As of May 2015, the series has sold 20 million copies, including 400,000 copies sold overseas.

Koichi Sugiyama is a Japanese music composer, council member of JASRAC (Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers, and Publishers), board member of Japan Institute for National Fundamentals, and honorary chairman of the Japanese Backgammon League, and composed the Famicom Disk System title. He is best known for composing music for the Dragon Quest video game series, which is published by Square Enix, and several Japanese anime and TV shows, such as Space Runaway Ideon, Cyborg 009, and Gatchaman.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation is a role-playing video game developed by Heartbeat and published by Enix for the Super Famicom as a part of the Dragon Quest series and as the last Dragon Quest game in the Zenithia trilogy. It was released in Japan in December 1995, developed by Heartbeat; whereas the previous Dragon Quest games were developed by Chunsoft
