Americana is the 31st studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, released on June 5, 2012. The album was Young's first collaboration with backing band Crazy Horse since their 2003 album, Greendale, and its associated tour.

It’s been nine years since Neil Young and Crazy Horse put out an album together (2003’s Greendale) and 16 years since Broken Arrow, Young’s last LP with the complete Crazy Horse lineup of Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina and Frank Poncho Sampedro. On June 5th, the supreme team returns to full force on Americana, filled with gritty, ragged and rocking renditions of American folk classics like Oh! Susanna, Gallows Pole and This Land Is Your Land, plus a stomping, album-closing version of God Save the Queen.

A very young choir of children plays with Crazy Horse he said. They’re songs we all know from kindergarden, but Crazy Horse has rearranged them, and they now belong to us. What ties these songs together is the fact that while they may represent an America that may no longer exist, says a press release announcing the new album. The emotions and scenarios behind these songs still resonate with what’s going on in the country today with equal, if not greater impact nearly 200 years later. The disc was recorded at Audio Casa Blanca and was produced by Neil Young and John Hanlon with Mark Humphreys. Neil Young and Crazy Horse made their first live appearance since 2004 last month at the MusicCares tribute to Paul McCartney in Los Angeles.

God save our gracious Queen, Long live our noble Queen, God save the Queen: Send her victorious, Happy and glorious, Long to reign over us: God save the Queen. O Lord, our God, arise, Scatter her enemies, And make them fall. Confound their politics, Frustrate their knavish tricks, On thee our hopes we fix: God save the Queen. Thy choicest gifts in store, Find more lyrics at ※ Mojim. com On her be pleased to pour; Long may she reign: May she defend our laws, And ever give us cause To sing with heart and voice God save the Queen.

Americana is the first album from Neil Young & Crazy Horse in nearly nine years. Crazy Horse is: Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina, Poncho Sampedro, and Neil Young. As you ll see from the track-listing, Americana is collection of classic, American folk songs. In their day, some of these may have been referred to as "protest songs," "murder ballads," or campfire-type songs passed down with universal, relatable tales for everyman. It s also interesting to note that "God Save The Queen," Britain s national anthem, also became the de facto national anthem of sorts before the establishment of The Union as we know it until we came to adopt our very own "The Star Spangled Banner," which has been recognized for use as early as 1889 and made our official national anthem in.
