An Album Of Modern Poetry: An Anthology Ready By The Poets ‎(3xLP, Comp, Mono, Tra + Box). The Library Of Congress, The Library Of Congress, The Library Of Congress, The Library Of Congress. Marketplace Sell Copy.

The anthology is large, with 1,100 pages in each of the two volumes. Volume I, about modern poetry, and Volume II, contemporary poetry. Essays on poetics are included in each volume.

The first anthology of Canadian modernist poetry, it has been hailed as a "landmark anthology" and a "milestone selection of modernist Canadian verse".

The principle of selection was, so far as might be, aesthetic. Poems were chosen less for their representative quality than for their immediate worth, and of course, their ability to stand the test of translation.

Best Famous Modern or Contemporary Poets. This is a list of famous modern poets. Patricia Lee "Patti" Smith is an American singer-songwriter, poet and visual artist, who became a highly influential component of the New York City punk rock movement with her 1975 debut album Horses. Called the "Godmother of Punk", her work was a fusion of rock and poetry American poet and teacher.

The reception of poetry is largely characterised either by an empathetic identification of critics with the lyric persona or by exclusive interest in formal patterning. The present volume seeks to remedy this deficit. All the contributors 'theorise' the lyric to overcome the impasse of an impressionistic and narrowly formalistic critical debate on the genre. For fans stirred by the cerebral lyrics of SOAD albums Hypnotize, Mesmerize, Steal This Album!, Toxicity, and their first, self-titled breakthrough-and for everyone enthusiastic about Serj’s solo album, Imperfect Harmonies-this essential, one-of-a-kind collection of Tankian’s innermost thoughts and feelings is a must-read. The Art of Losing is the first anthology of its kind, delivering poetry with a purpose.

Modern Canadian Poets. Neue Gedichte, New Poems. New and Selected Poems. New Caribbean Poetry: An Anthology. Mark Ford's anthology is an essential introduction to four poets whose work has influenced poetry around the world. It includes detailed background information and a substantial bibliography. Subjects: Literature, Poetry. For the first time, The New York Poets gathers in a single volume the best work of four extraordinary poets: Frank O'Hara, John Ashbery, Kenneth Koch, and James Schuyler. Much of their work reflects their participation in the creative energies of the New York art scene, 'the floods of paint', to quote James Schuyler, 'in whose crashing surf we all scramble'.

The Norton Anthology of Modern and Contemporary Poetry continues to be the most comprehensive collection of twentieth-century poetry in English
