I mean Pulp and Dig Vis Drill were really experimental in those days. One Dig Vis gig ended in a riot, with the police being called. At a Pulp gig in The Beehive during the second song, they turned them off and just told them to get out. Both way before their time. And these aren't art school students dicking about, they were serious about being different. Screaming Trees - Asylum. These guys moved into the same practice space as us. They programmed everything up and then played live bass, guitar and vocals over the top.

Dig is an album by Miles Davis on Prestige Records, catalogue number 7012. It features tracks from a 1951 session at Apex Studios, remastered in 1956 by Rudy Van Gelder. First released in the twelve-inch format in 1956, Dig was later reissued as a compact disc with additional tracks. The original album was later released as Diggin' with the catalogue number PR 7281 and a different cover

Adam Boult: Seven readers make the case for their favourite Pulp album. He didn't quite break my heart, but it certainly creaked. Booked to play our students union, (by me) with Dig vis Drill and Mister Morality, for the princely sum of 35 quid, only only 2 bands turned up. And so I never got to hear the most wistful, gentle, poetic, loving and loved LP a foppish, indie, student could have hoped to find. When we got burgled in May and they stole all the electricals, I got my record player out for the first time in a decade.
