Blisschord by Parallax, released 20 July 2011 1. Sleep Cloud 2. Sandhill 3. Empty Field 4. The Bones Will Never Be Found 5. Santana Morning 6. Thrum 7. Waiting For The Summer Rain 8. Untitled Retrieved and remastered from the original master recordings, this is/was the final completed effort under the name Parallax before retiring it permanently. Seven years ago now, I finished this release after working on it for several months, only to realize it was really the beginning of something else. I'm truly impressed and surprised at how well-built this album still is, despite several other Parallax recordings from the exact same time that do not date quite as elegantly.

After Parallax was recorded, Bradford Cox was forced to continue touring with Deerhunter, which ended up being so stressful for Cox that it caused him to have a nervous breakdown.
Following the same outline of his previous two solo instrumental albums, 1993's Introspection and 1994's Uncertain Terms, Greg Howe's Parallax doesn't offer any surprises, but delivers mind-blowing guitar performances by the truckload.

The Parallax II,' however, has redefined Rogers' role in BTBAM, as he delivers the most notable and spotlit vocal work of his career. The most memorable fragments of Between the Buried and Me's discography have almost always been guitar-based.
Parallax offers a miniature glass menagerie of fragile songs ascribed with heaps of intimacy, all shedding the most light on Cox’s whole artistic persona. Parallax feels like a more complete work than any other Atlas Sound record, with the differences between the songs less distinct and everything flowing together more naturally.
