Last studio/live album released with Tony W. before he left Death In June. Tracks 01 05 : studio material, including a reworked version of "All Alone In Her Nirvana". Tracks 06 10 : recorded live at the Clarendon Hotel, London, October 6th, 1983. This is one of last gigs with Tony W. The gig is usually wrongly dated as "December 17th, 1983", but Douglas P. said it was probably recorded on the October night at the Clarendon Hotel. A complete and different audience recording of the December 17th, 1983 gig might confirm that statement.
Death In June is an extremely hard working band. Together, they have crafted a mere 20 studio albums, and have cooperated in the making of what is known as, Apocalyptic Folk. They’ve worked with a lot of bands similar to the genre, like Sol Invictus and Current 93 into forming its entire figure. All three bands have made an enormous contribution with the category and to this day, still are (despite a few LP’s being absolute crap). Death in June’s 5 track bonanza (excluding the live tracks), ‘Burial’ is definitely one of their best efforts
Death In June is the musical brainchild of English folk musician Douglas Pearce, better known as Douglas P. Death In June was originally formed in Britain in 1981 as a trio, but after the other members left in 1985 to work on other projects, the group became the work of Douglas Pearce and various collaborators. After a good 25 years worth of live events and CD's, Death In June continue to re-release their back catalog. Yet again, here's another, this time "Burial. Now the story goes that this release was originally a LP release from the mid 80's (multiple variations of this on coloured vinyl), and originally released in CD format in the early 90's. Since then the CD version has been out of print and voila, the next re-issue itteration in the series.
