Sky 2 is the second album by English/Australian instrumental progressive rock band Sky, released in 1980. Despite being a double album it reached number one in the British Album charts, and at the time was the fastest double album to receive platinum status in the UK, while the instrumental single "Toccata" peaked at 5 in the British Singles Chart. Francis Monkman played guitar on the 20-minute rock suite "FIFO" because, in his words, "I felt it necessary to inject a grunge element"

Sky Two is a British digital television channel operated by Sky plc as a sister channel to Sky One and Sky Living. The current channel began broadcasting (as Sky One Mix) in December 2002. The 'Sky 2' name and format had earlier been used for a similar service which broadcast on analogue platforms for a year from 1996.

SKY – Sky 2. Arista 1980, Esoteric 2014. Popular classics give strength in numbers: number two album that reached number one spot. And just like with the meeting opposites on the first album, Scipio marries pop-rocking with classicism by superimposing the piece’s first part onto the second one and deploying all the ensemble’s means to give it as much impetus as possible. As far as musical jokes go, this album smokes and, although it takes more than one spin to get the gist of what turned it into a chart-topper, the ride is great. It’s even great with this reissue’s bonus DVD holding a whole of the concert recorded at Hammersmith Odeon in 1980 for BBC and remaining the only full live document of the quintet’s original.

Like Sea of Flame, it was originally a survival map, and was later updated to be a CTM map. It is one of the easier maps in the Super Hostile series. Infernal Sky II takes place on islands floating in the sky. It involves a lot of building of bridges to connect from one area to another. It's a linear-branching type map, meaning there are intersections leading to other areas

The aforementioned Sky 2 is my favourite of this pair of reissues, the extended double album running time allowing the band to cover a lot of ground in an at times thrilling listening experience. The rhythmic Hotta kicks things off with fine work from Fry, Monkman and Peek in particular. The pace changes with a sprightly Dance of the Little Fairies, Sahara bringing the old Side One to a close with an atmospheric sweep. No bonus tracks for Sky 2 but both albums come with bonus DVDs. The debut features around 30 minutes of BBC TV slots, all that survive apparently, including interviews and performances on daytime shows plus a video for Cannonball shown on The Old Grey Whistle Test and the opportunity to see genial Irish crooner Val Doonican sitting in with his guitar for a version of Carillion.
